Marel Food Systems at Seafood Processing Europe 2007

Marel Food Systems welcomes you to stand nos. 5541, 5543 and 5635 at SPE in Brussels where we will be exhibiting under our new name and unified organisation.

AEW Delford, Carnitech, Marel and Scanvaegt are all known throughout the fish processing industry as suppliers of innovative and advanced machines and systems for efficient processing. Now, together in one united company, Marel Food Systems is able to offer high quality equipment and turnkey solutions that cover more of the value chain than each company could previously offer.

Marel Food Systems will exhibit a wide range of applications for the fish processing industry, introducing innovations like the Cut n’ Batch processing line, AEW Delford’s high performance 8060 Weigh Price Labeller, Carnitech’s intelligent IPS3000 Slicer for retail packs of fresh sliced smoked salmon, the SensorX Bone Inspection System for fish block from Marel, and Scanvaegt's ScanPortioner B 36.

One source for virtually all fish processing needs
Whitefish, salmon and shellfish processing are the primary marine sectors serviced by Marel Food Systems. Components and systems range from weighing, intelligent grading, and batching, slicing and portioning equipment to automatic pin-bone removal solutions, packing lines, checkweighers, weigh-price labelling and robotic loading systems.

"Fish producers are continually looking for ways to improve their products," says Hörður Arnarson, CEO of Marel Food Systems. "In bringing together four innovative companies we have created a strong player that can meet the demands of our customers with sound, dynamic product development and cost efficiency through economies of scale."

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS:
Joint solution batches salmon portions to fixed weight trays
An example of the innovative solutions that Marel Food Systems can supply is the Cut n’ Batch processing line where Scanvaegt’s ScanPortioner B 36 portion cutter is paired with Marel’s Quickloader and a tray dispenser.

The Cut n’ Batch principle allows the portion cutter to perform as a batcher with no need for additional weighing machines and grader/batcher. The Cut n’ Batch processing line comes in a single lane solution with up to 60 fixed-weight trays per minute with only two operators and in a dual lane solution with up to 120 fixed-weight trays per minute also with only two operators.

AEW Delford
Intelligent Portion Loading Robot – Loads more output at loads less cost
AEW Delford’s IPL Robot uses vision technology to accurately identify the position and orientation of incoming portions, enabling it to lift, turn and transfer them - gently, quickly and accurately - in varying configurations. IPL can load fresh fish portions into trays or thermoformers and added value products like breaded portions into final retail packs including boxes.

Carnitech
New deheading system for salmon – CT 2620
Designed for automatic deheading and tail cutting of salmon, the latest product news from Carnitech is the first such system to combine head and tail cutting with direct automatic infeed to a filleting machine. This setup makes for enhanced efficiency, an improved filleting process and prime uniform end products. Product handling is minimised and production becomes less labour intensive.

Marel
Marel ProLine Graders – Multi-purpose graders with maximum efficiency
The ProLine Grader series features a versatile suite of standardised modular options and add-on components. This provides processors with the flexibility to select the precise gradingsolution combination to match individual operating environments. The non-tubular, hygienic design makes for easy and very fast cleaning.

Scanvaegt
ScanCombinator multihead weigher with Automatic Feeder Adjustment
The ScanCombinator design moves soft, wet and sticky products to the weighing unit as smoothly and rapidly as possible – and does away with feeder system blockages.
This is achieved by the “Automatic Feeder Adjustment” (AFA) feature that enables the vibrating feeders to always operate at full capacity. The weighing unit always receives a constant flow of products, maximizing equipment performance.
