SLEEVING SUCCESS
The Delford SmartSleeve CT60
Automatic Sleeving System is proving popular with European food processors
like Eurochef of Verona, Italy who recently automated a ready meal sleeving
line for their wide range of traditional Italian meals produced in a selection
of tray sizes.
Designed as an entry level system, the SmartSleeve CT60
is practical and cost-effective, making it ideal for upgrading hand sleeving
lines – which still account for some 70% of all sleeve packaging
operations.
The CT60 automatically overcomes the problems associated
with hand-sleeving:
- It uses flat cut blanks, which are less expensive that pre-glued sleeves.
- It provides on-line coding and date stamping.
- It requires less skilled labour.
- It provides a tighter sleeve.
- It reduces the risk of rsi (repetitive strain injury), sickness leave and compensation claims.
Robustly built, the system is compact and portable,
allowing it to be easily installed and moved around the production plant.
It can accommodate a wide variety of tray types and sizes, including complex
die-cut shapes and sleeves for round containers, with up to 600 sleeves
in a quick changeover magazine hopper.
Easy to use menu-driven size adjustments minimise production downtime
and increasing production throughput and, for added convenience, a purpose-designed
integral weighing unit can be incorporated into the system.
